Adobe Illustrator
1. Download our Illustrator template from the Product page for the item you are ordering. Use the template to create a new file, or place your existing document within the template. [Templates Page]
Advanced Users Note:
If you are familiar with PDF workflows, you may proceed without a template. However, please scrutinize your artwork in the cropping tool or at the proofing stage.
2. Carefully follow all the guidelines for All Applications.
3. Print a laser or inkjet proof for a final internal check, then Save your File as an Illustrator EPS. Screenshot
4. In the EPS Format Options window, turn on the options for "Include Linked Files," "Include Document Fonts" and "CMYK PostScript Level 2." If you used any of Illustrator's Transparency features, you should choose to "Preserve Appearance (flatten transparency)" instead of Preserving Paths. Screenshot
5. Your file is now ready to distill to PDF. See Adobe Acrobat instructions.
Exporting PDFs from Illustrator CS thru CS3
It is possible to save files as PDF directly from Illustrator Versions 9 thru CS3, however please follow these tips to ensure the most accurate results:
1. Make sure to save files with transparency flattened.
2. For Illustrator CS2 and later, please save your file with the PDF/X-1a:2001 preset. Screenshot
